CloudFlare Beginnings
CloudFlare was founded by Matthew Prince, Lee Holloway, and Michelle Zatlyn in July 2009. Its headquarters is located in San Francisco, California. From the concept of Honey Pot project of tracking malicious behaviors, they now find solutions in creating protection from these attacks.
The main concern raised by investors with making web security a focal point is that it would be latent investment-wise. As they focus on security, the beta testers noted that the page loading time increased by 30%. This is a by-product they would never have expected but a very welcome one. Not only they secured a website but now contributed to the performance; it speeds up as it takes out the garbage traffic. With this development of the first CloudFlare review by beta testers, it will attract companies interested in carving a niche through the internet by having not just secured website but also a top performing one.

Six years later, it has an Alexa rank of 1 854. It now has revenue of $5 to $10 million USD annually. Its global network boast of 79 data centers all around the globe.
